Job summary

Lycoming Engines, a Textron company, is seeking a 2027 Mechanical Engineering Intern for Williamsport, PA. You will perform engineering assignments related to new product development and BOM maintenance, review changes, and issue ECOs using PLM software.

Work with the ODA group on FAA certification, and coordinate with the Configuration Management and Regulations teams. On-site internship with mentorship and hands-on project experience during the summer.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T drafting standards.
• BOM creation/maintenance using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle preferred).
• Teamwork mindset with presentation skills and conflict resolution ability.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering assignments related to new product development and/or enhancement of existing products.
• Create and maintain engine BOM.
• Review engineering changes/revisions to both engineering procedures and drawings.
• Create and execute engineering change orders (ECOs) using PLM software.
• Consult with customers on designs and specifications.
• Assist ODA group with FAA certification effort.
• Coordinate activities with Director, Configuration Management and Regulations to meet goals.
• May interface with suppliers.
