Job summary

Siemens is seeking an Industrial Engineer for our Wendell, NC site to drive cost reduction, throughput improvements, and operational excellence. The role targets lean implementations, standard work, and daily management systems across value streams.

You will lead simulations, optimize material and information flow, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable ramp-ups, new lines, and localizations. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or higher.
• 3+ years experience in operations, manufacturing, or logistics.
• Experience with lean manufacturing techniques (VSM, Standardized Work, Line Balancing, Pull/Kanban, A3/8D, SMED, Six Sigma, 5S/6S).
• Proficiency with Excel and data analysis tools.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills including facilitation.
• Experience with layout design tools like AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and drive critical projects aimed at cost reduction, throughput improvement, and operational excellence.
• Analyze production value streams and collect time/motion data to develop standardized work artifacts.
• Build value stream flow simulations for capacity planning and ramp-up scenarios.
• Drive lean material flow systems including Kanban and pull methods across departments.
• Develop and deploy visual signaling (Andon), 6S and daily performance management controls.
• Deliver training and sustaining mechanisms for lean improvements.
• Maintain timelines, project plans, and status reports for line layouts, new deployments, or product localizations.
