Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Raleigh, NC, seeks an Industrial Engineering intern for a 12-week summer program starting May or June 2027. You will support labor standard development, time studies, and production process improvements on the factory floor.

Qualified students are pursuing a bachelor’s in Industrial/Mechanical/Systems engineering, with strong Excel skills. On-site, full-time (40 hours/week); candidate must live within 50 miles of Wendell, NC and be eligible to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field.
• Completed coursework or understanding of IE concepts including process improvement, data analysis, and operations management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Conducting time studies and analyzing assembly processes to establish and validate labor standards.
• Supporting process improvement, standard work development, and workflow optimization within the facility.
• Collecting and analyzing production data to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
• Developing and updating work instructions, visual aids, and process documentation.
• Collaborating with production, quality, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, and maintenance teams to improve efficiency.
