Job summary

Matalco Inc. in Franklin, Kentucky, invites applications for an Industrial Engineer Intern position. This summer internship offers hands-on exposure to process optimization, data analysis, and project management within our manufacturing environment.

You will work with experienced engineers to analyze production processes, assist with process maps, collect data, and support project milestones while developing professional skills and industry insights for your future career.

Qualifications

• Must have completed 90+ credit hours by end of spring 2024.
• Minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA.
• Full-time student at an accredited two-year or four-year college/university.
• Preferred majors: Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Metallurgy.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. or Canada without sponsorship.
• Strong proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication, presentation, and team skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Self-motivated with initiative and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analysis and improvement of production processes to boost efficiency and reduce waste.
• Support development and implementation of process maps and workflow diagrams.
• Collect and analyze data to identify trends and improvement areas.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process enhancements.
• Assist with project management tasks, including scheduling and milestone tracking.
• Document findings and prepare reports for the engineering team.
• Up to 20% travel required (if needed).
