Job summary

Siemens Mobility is offering a 10-12 week summer internship for an Industrial Engineer Intern to support Rolling Stock operations at a manufacturing facility in the United States. You will be embedded in the Industrial Engineering team, studying processes, analyzing production data, and implementing improvements to make the line safer, faster, and more predictable.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BA/BS in Industrial Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Availability: 40 hours per week from June to August.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct time studies and cycle-time analysis to build and refine standard work at assembly and test stations.
• Support line balancing, workstation layout, and material flow improvements to reduce walking, waiting, and rework.
• Help maintain routings, work instructions, and labor-hour estimates in coordination with production, planning, and quality.
• Collect and analyze production data such as throughput, downtime, and quality escapes, and turn it into visuals and recommendations.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities including 5S, kaizen events, value stream mapping, and ergonomic assessments on the floor.
