Job summary

Barrett Distribution Centers, Inc. in the Memphis/Nashville area is seeking an Industrial Engineer II to support distribution center operations, analyze data, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions that drive productivity and reduce costs.

This full-time role collaborates with operations, IT and suppliers, uses Lean Six Sigma tools and CAD/WMS experience, and leads cross-functional improvement projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
Master’s Degree strongly preferred.
LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt Certification required
2–4 years’ experience in business process engineering, warehousing, or related field.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and optimize process configurations and layouts.
Lead cross-functional improvement projects and mentor juniors.
Participate in RFPs for racking and material handling; design layouts.
Apply inventory and production control techniques; use simulations.
Develop labor standards and time studies to drive productivity.
Build ROI models and report outcomes to management.
Lead Lean events and apply Six Sigma tools to achieve improvements.
Travel up to 50% during peak periods.
