Job summary

Flex is seeking an Industrial Engineer 2-1 located in Des Moines, Iowa. As an Industrial Engineer, you will analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify improvements, implement changes, and monitor performance.

Your day will involve evaluating processes, improving work flows, developing procedures, supporting new product introductions, and leading Lean-based continuous improvement projects while ensuring safety,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with time studies, process mapping, and workflow analysis.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; ERP/MRP knowledge preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Analyze production workflows and layouts to reduce waste.
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions.
• Support new product introductions with process plans.
• Establish labor standards and perform time studies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean principles.
• Develop and maintain process documentation and SOPs.
• Monitor KPIs and recommend corrective actions.
• Support cost reduction through optimization and waste elimination.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
