Job summary

Quality Bicycle Products seeks an Industrial Engineer II for our Bloomington, MN distribution center. You will improve labor productivity, balance workload across inbound, outbound, and inventory flows, and apply lean methods to optimize throughput, safety, and service levels.

Responsibilities include analyzing labor trends, building workload models, partnering with operations and IT to develop dashboards, and leading continuous improvement projects to sustain gains and adapt to volume growth.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of engineering, operations analysis, or process improvement experience in distribution, manufacturing, or logistics.
  • Strong analytical skills with Excel, SQL, or BI tools (Power BI/Tableau).
  • Experience with labor planning, forecasting, and workforce optimization.
  • Knowledge of engineered labor standards, time studies, and productivity measurement.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze volume, labor utilization, and productivity trends to identify imbalance, waste, and capacity constraints across functions and shifts.
  • Build workload balancing models aligning labor deployment to forecast demand, service requirements, and operating priorities.
  • Assess staffing plans and recommend labor adjustments to address changing volume and risk.
  • Identify bottlenecks across receiving, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory flows; drive actions to improve throughput and stability.
  • Partner with Operations leaders to optimize labor deployment, shift design, and resource strategy.
  • Develop dashboards, reporting, and KPIs with WMS and business systems teams to improve visibility of labor performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methods to deliver measurable gains.
  • Support peak planning, capacity modeling, and labor forecasting to handle volume variability.
  • Evaluate layout, slotting, and process design opportunities that improve workload balance and travel efficiency.
  • Ensure engineering recommendations align with safety, quality, and operational standards.
