Job summary

DENSO in Maryville, TN, seeks an Industrial Engineer to champion TPS principles across the plant to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement. Lead time studies and process observations to identify productivity and waste reduction opportunities.

You will analyze manual and automated assembly, develop standardized work and takt-time processes, design production and conveyance systems, and create visual controls to spot abnormalities quickly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 0-5 years in Industrial Engineering or similar Engineering role.
• Analytical & troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office products (Excel and PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Champion TPS principles across the plant to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement.
• Lead time studies and process observations to identify productivity, efficiency, and waste reduction opportunities.
• Analyze manual and automated assembly processes to optimize labor utilization, equipment performance, workflow design, and throughput.
• Develop standardized work procedures, production balancing strategies, and takt-time-based manufacturing processes.
• Design, implement, and improve production and conveyance systems to reduce lead time and waste.
• Create visual management systems and production controls for rapid identification of abnormalities and bottlenecks.
• Apply TPS tools (MIFDs, kaizen, root-cause analysis) to drive sustainable improvements.
• Partner with Production, Logistics, Process Eng, and Logistics Eng to execute projects.
• Analyze manufacturing data and KPIs to measure process effectiveness and propose corrective actions.
• Support new product introductions, equipment installations, and process changes by evaluating impact on workflow and capacity.
• Facilitate training and coaching on TPS principles and continuous improvement.
