Job summary

DENSO in Battle Creek, MI is seeking a Total Industrial Engineer to support plant leadership in achieving financial and operational targets. You will lead cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement activities using TPS principles.

Responsibilities include expanding TPS activities, developing kaizen plans with JIT tools, creating standardized work, and coaching teams to reduce waste, improve safety and productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Strong motivation and energy towards continuous improvement.
• Must be flexible to change projects and have the ability to multi-task as priorities change.
• Be flexible with working hours, as needed, to support project coverage and base month’s activities, including weekends periodically.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams to implement kaizen and TPS.
• Develop and implement kaizen plans to eliminate waste using JIT techniques to improve safety, quality, productivity, and profitability.
• Introduce JIT tools and TPS principles from design phase to realize quick target achievement and future kaizen potential.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and drive implementation of kaizen.
• Develop and prepare presentations to all levels of management including executive monthly Excellent Factory meeting.
• Write and present A3 reports summarizing completed projects.
