RTX Decorah manufacturing site is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join the Manufacturing Support team. The role focuses on enhancing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and driving continuous improvement across multiple product lines, with emphasis on sensors and fire protection production activities.

You will define technical solutions, collaborate with design engineering to improve manufacturability, and lead Lean initiatives while managing medium‑complexity projects and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM major obtained by start date.
• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency in driving process enhancements and operational efficiency through continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement technical solutions, tools, and manufacturing layouts to enhance efficiency, safety, and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with design engineering to improve manufacturability and refine product designs through technical insights.
• Lead cross‑functional initiatives focused on cost control, inventory management, and Lean principles to drive process improvement.
• Solve complex problems and innovate new assembly processes through data analysis, research, and emerging methodologies.
• Manage medium‑complexity projects, estimate timelines and costs, and validate cost requirements to support decision‑making.
