Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Troy, Alabama seeks an Early Career Industrial Engineer to support the Missile Assembly team by identifying and implementing process improvements in a production area.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct time studies, apply Lean Six Sigma, and utilize simulation tools to evaluate current and future needs, while driving cost and quality improvements in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Management, or a similar Engineering discipline
• Experience working in a team-based environment, with a strong focus on collaboration and continuous improvement
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite tools, particularly Excel
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and retain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance. Lockheed Martin will assist selected candidate with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting
• Must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) background investigation to obtain “employee possessor” approval (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to identify and implement process improvements in a production area
• Perform process observations and time studies to support cost analysis and improvement activities
• Use metrics, data tools, and visualization to analyze cost, quality, and schedule drivers
• Plan and implement facility layouts and workstation improvements
• Apply Lean Six Sigma tools and lead continuous improvement projects
• Utilize discrete event simulation (such as Simio, FlexSim, ProSim, Arena, etc.) and capacity tools to evaluate current and future business needs
• Collaborating with production, engineering, and management to drive initiatives
