Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Irving, TX, invites applications for an Industrial Engineer Co-Op through January–June 2027. This full-time program offers hands-on manufacturing and engineering exposure on the production floor, with chance to pursue full-time roles after completion.

Responsibilities include supporting Lean/Six Sigma projects, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration across Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial or Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.
• You must not have any Summer Internship contract or other employment commitment that could interfere with the contract dates specified for this position.
• Actively practice continuous improvement on the production floor and listen for opportunities to enhance the manufacturing environment.
• Spend approximately 80% of working time on the manufacturing floor and 20% in an office environment.
• Have experience with MS Office Tools, Advance Excel.
• Knowledge Power Apps is highly desirable; Power BI is a plus.
• Requires fluency in English and Communication skills.
• Experience working in a professional environment.
• Have a passion for a career in Manufacturing Supply Chain industry.
• Previous Internship/Coop and/or Academic Research experience is preferred.
• Extracurricular experience in a student association/organization is a plus.
• Possess a strong communication style.
• Ability to assess issues and opportunities, establish priorities, and act with a sense of urgency.
• Knowledge or experience with visualization tools and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Assign and execute one of the Supply Chain projects to increase process Efficiencies, Reduce cycle time, Improve Cost, and improve overall quality of execution within assigned department using project management methodologies (I.E. FPX).
• Undertakes and successfully completes simple or basic project/product development tasks to include any of the following: writing and/or verifying specifications, maintaining product/process documentation, testing processes, equipment, raw materials and product, and validating equipment and processes.
• May assist in creating concepts and designs/approaches for new products/processes/test methods.
• Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results.
• Comply with all environmental, safety and occupational health policies (i.e., ISO14001 & OSHAS 18001).
• Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties assigned as needed and based on the project assign.
• At the end of the program, the co-op will have the opportunity to present the results to the A&R Texas Leadership Team.
