Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Winsted, CT is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electronic Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC and PLC controlled equipment within our manufacturing environment.

You will diagnose complex electrical systems, perform wiring tasks, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, reading electrical schematics, and experience with 3-phase power, transformers, and servo drives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree in Electronics or related technical field preferred.
• Experience or training with CNC machine controls and PLCs.
• Experience with 480/277/220V three-phase power, transformers, and electrical wiring.
• Electrical/electronic troubleshooting experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, drawings, specs, and documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and determine sequence of work.
• Computer experience with maintenance databases or systems.
• Background in electrical engineering or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and upgrade manufacturing equipment including CNC/PLC systems.
• Perform basic and advanced machine wiring and use electrical test equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC servo drives, power supplies, and feedback devices.
• Replace switches, sensors, and other electrical components.
• Support refurbishments, modifications, and upgrades; work with vendors as needed.
• Order parts and maintain inventory; support 6S and workplace organization.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives; complete job-specific training.
• Follow Quality, EHS, and company policies; perform other duties as assigned.
