Job summary

Southwire Company in Heflin, AL is seeking an Electronic Technician to support our manufacturing operations by delivering comprehensive electronic equipment maintenance, focused on reliability and continuous uptime.

You will perform preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors and production equipment, read schematics, use PLCs, and participate in process improvements. High school diploma required; technical degree preferred; pay rate $43.23–$45.68 per hour; shift 6p-2a.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
• Strong electronic background.
• Must have computer skills (Microsoft Office, CMMS, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and OEM manuals.
• Familiar with test equipment such as multimeters/oscilloscopes.
• Ability to read and interpret precision measuring devices.
• Capable of handling multiple tasks in a high-speed, fast-paced environment.
• Must pass written and hands-on certification tests.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using logical and systematic methodologies.
• Routine maintenance including field fault analysis, calibration of instrumentation, and component replacement.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic, digital equipment and AC/DC motors & controls.
• Fault analysis of relay logic, motor control circuits, and lighting circuits.
• Access PLC logic programming to troubleshoot production equipment.
• Replacement of identified failed parts or components.
• Adjust equipment to meet operational specifications.
• Maintain maintenance data and historical records.
