Job summary

Southwire Company, a leading wire and cable producer, seeks a Level II Maintenance Technician for its Heflin, AL plant. You will support manufacturing operations with multi-craft maintenance focused on reliability, preventive tasks, and safety.

The role includes mentoring technicians and improving processes. Requires a strong mechanical/electrical background, 5+ years of industrial experience, and proficiency with CMMS and MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years manufacturing? (maint.) preferred; 2-year technical degree desired.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background; good computer skills (MS Office, CMMS).
• Ability to read drawings/schematics and OEM manuals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using systematic methods.
• Install/align mechanical drive systems.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks, including major service.
• Replace failed parts; adjust equipment to specs.
• Maintain lubrication and electrical systems.
• Train junior technicians and operators.
