Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC in Florence, AL is seeking an Electronic Technician to support manufacturing operations with preventive maintenance and electrical troubleshooting. You will ensure reliable machinery operation, interpret schematics, and participate in process improvement initiatives.

The role requires a strong electronic background, ability to read OEM manuals, and proficiency with test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
• Strong electronic background and understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Must be familiar with MS Office, CMMS and Excel.
• Ability to read schematics, OEM manuals and technical drawings.
• Experience with test equipment like multimeters and oscilloscopes.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using logical and systematic methods.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of instrumentation and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic, digital equipment and AC/DC motors & controls.
• Analyze faults in relay logic, motor control circuits, and power circuits.
• Use PLC logic to troubleshoot production equipment and update maintenance records.
• Replace failed parts, adjust equipment to specifications, and suggest process improvements.
• Test electrical systems and verify circuit continuity for safety and operation.
