How You'll Perform the Role
- Perform repairs, maintenance, preventative maintenance, installations, upgrades, and changes to industrial production equipment and facilities, maintaining detailed records and inventory management.
- Service and maintain equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, transmission systems, extruders, winders, cranes, presses, and other production machinery.
- Inspect and assess machine functionality and troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns.
- Repair pumps, valves, cylinders, and other components.
- Adjust mechanical parts using hand and machine tools and fabricate parts for repairs and upgrades.
- Perform welding, cutting, and machining tasks.
- Troubleshoot and repair production hardware and software, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, drives, and temperature controls.
- Support production through machinery repairs, upgrades, and programming/setup to meet specifications.
- Assist in creating and revising manufacturing instructions and process documentation.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs as needed.
- Assemble, disassemble, troubleshoot, and maintain electro-mechanical systems, working from schematics and instructions.
- Install conduit, mount boxes, pull wires, and terminate electrical connections.
- Diagnose, rebuild, repair, and test parts and equipment, managing inventory accordingly.
- Work safely, accurately, and independently under pressure to ensure equipment operation.
What We Need From You
- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and NEC safety standards and Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
- Strong electro-mechanical skills, including reading schematics and ladder logic.
- Proficiency with digital multimeters and troubleshooting.
- Ability to multitask with attention to detail and prioritize effectively.
- Experience in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of 5S principles and Lean concepts.
- Effective communication skills and teamwork orientation.
- Experience with machine safety, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Own basic SAE and metric tools.
- Additional experience in extrusion, vacuum, resin control systems, or flexo printing is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing, walking, sitting, and working on computers.
- Occasional crouching, kneeling, working in confined spaces, and in varied temperatures outdoors.
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds, climb ladders/scaffolding, and operate lifts and forklifts.
