Job summary

ITW is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform electrical and mechanical repairs on presses and production equipment. The role includes troubleshooting, upgrading PLC-based controls, and leading installation projects with internal and external teams.

The position requires 5+ years of experience with machine controls, NEC knowledge, and the ability to lift 40–60 lbs. A journeyman level or equivalent certification is preferred. First shift, with potential later shift changes.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with PLCs and sensors.
• Knowledge of operator interfaces, servo motors, and VFDs.
• Understanding of relay logic and electrical schematics.
• Minimum 5 years troubleshooting industrial machine controls.
• Familiarity with press mechanics and auxiliary equipment.
• Knowledge of the NEC Code.
• Journeyman certification or 5 years experience in machine controls.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 40-60 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical/mechanical repairs on presses and equipment per schedule or priority.
• Repair and replace electrical components or safety devices on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot system failures on assigned equipment.
• Upgrade electrical controls using PLCs and sensors.
• Act as Project Manager for installations/modifications and manage timelines and resources.
• Operate boom lift and scissor lift.
• Adhere to safety standards and housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Establish and maintain a critical parts inventory.
