Job summary

Gautier Steel is seeking an Electrician (Union) in our Maintenance department to support production by maintaining electrical systems and equipment. This role requires hands-on electrical work and strong safety discipline.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of electrical experience, a four-year post-secondary education or equivalent, and the ability to troubleshoot power wiring, controls, and PLC/VFD systems, including Siemens knowledge.

Qualifications

• Must troubleshoot power wiring and controls.
• Able to run rigid conduit and wiring.
• Knowledge of high/low voltage AC/DC power and related codes.
• Electrical preventative maintenance knowledge.
• Understand pre-use tool inspection and site cleanup.

Responsibilities

• Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom, and other electrical systems.
• Install electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment for alarm and other systems.
• Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
• Troubleshoot PLC and VFD drives, update, programming (Siemens a plus).
• Operate and maintain overhead crane (AC and DC).
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Recordkeeping.
• Infrared panel testing.
