Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. seeks an Electrician Helper to plan and install wiring, fixtures, and control equipment per customer specs and blueprints. You'll perform conduit work, wire splicing, and connections to motors and panels on diverse projects in the Southeast/central U.S.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Completion of Construction Electrician Course or 1 year of field experience as Electrician Helper.
• State/local certifications may be required in some locations.
• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor and co-workers.
• Basic math and calculator usage; read tape measure; understand volt/multimeter operation.
• Physically capable to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan installations to minimize waste and ensure accessibility and code compliance.
• Follow blueprints to install wiring before walls/ceilings/floors are completed.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread and assemble conduit using tools.
• Pull wiring through conduit and make splices securely.
• Connect wiring to lighting, power equipment, switch boxes, relays, and panels.
• Test circuit continuity for safety and compatibility.
• Observe equipment function and adjust as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
