Job summary

USG seeks an Industrial Electrician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in a manufacturing setting. The starting hourly rate ranges from $36.05 to $45.95, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 6am to 2pm and potential 2pm–10pm shifts.

You will interpret wiring schematics, test equipment, and work safely under NEC and NFPA-70E guidelines. Candidates should have basic mechanical maintenance skills and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics or prints for electrical installations.
  • Proficient in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical components.
  • Familiarity with NEC codes and NFPA-70E basics.
  • Capable of using electrical test equipment safely.
  • Able to operate basic hand and power tools.

Job description

Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Starting hourly rate, $36.05 - $45.95 per hour

Schedule, Weekdays, 6am - 2pm, may have to work some 2pm - 10pm shifts

Role & Responsibilities
  • Work safely as a top priority by adhering to the plant’s accident prevention policies. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Safely install, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical components within the manufacturing plant.
  • Maintain, test and repair AC/DC motors and motor control systems.
  • Develop skill set to troubleshoot advanced control system and instrumentation equipment including PLC controls.
  • Interpret and use wiring schematics.
  • Operate electrical test equipment inherent to the job.
  • Know and understand NEC codes, become trained in NFPA-70E, and practice all other electrician duties in a manufacturing environment
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Must have the desired technical skills to safely and proficiently work as an electrician in a plant setting.
  • Possess basic mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Ability to interpret and perform tasks as detailed on printed work orders.
  • Basic computer skills needed to complete safety training and review work-related e-mail.
  • Ability to operate equipment as needed, including forklifts, etc.
  • Familiar with common hand tools and how to properly use them.
  • Good collaboration skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
