Job summary

USG seeks an Industrial Mechanic in Reading, PA to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain conveyors, motors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems. You will follow diagrams and manuals, operate mobile equipment, and work in a team to meet production goals.

Positions include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts with weekly rotation and potential weekend overtime. Starting pay ranges from $34.15 to $43.40 per hour, with benefits and retirement plans provided.

• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on industrial equipment to keep operations efficient.
• Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and engineering specifications; and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Become familiar with plant work order system.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, cranes/hoist, rigging equipment, welders, fall restraint, etc.
• Work as part of a team and communicate to achieve required results.
• Active participation in plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to adapt to rotating shifts and overtime/weekend work where applicable.

Job description

Industrial Mechanic:

Schedule, Mon - Sat, 1st Shift, 7AM-3PM, 2nd Shift, 3PM-11PM, 3rd Shift, 11PM-7AM. Weekly rotation, some weekend overtime

Starting hourly payrate $34.15 - $43.40 per hour

Role & Responsibilities:

• Compliance with all safety and housekeeping rules.
• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities necessary to keep industrial equipment operating efficiently. Tasks may include but are not limited to 3-phase motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, engineering specifications; and troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Become familiar with plant work order system.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, cranes/hoist, rigging equipment, welders, fall restraint, etc.
• Work as part of a team, communicating and cooperating to achieve the required results.
• Expected to take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision.
• Adaptable to scheduling requirements including shiftwork, assignment of overtime, working weekends, etc. where applicable.

Additional Information:

Hourly pay rate: $34.15 - $43.40 per hour

The hours are a rotating schedule, Mon - Sat, 1st Shift, 7AM-3PM, 2nd Shift, 3PM-11PM, 3rd Shift, 11PM-7AM. Weekly rotation, overtime on weekends is typical.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
