Job summary

Valley Forge & Bolt Mfg in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking an industrial electrician with strong installation, maintenance and troubleshooting skills on complex machinery. You will read blueprints, follow codes, and work on production line equipment to keep systems running safely and efficiently.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience with electrical controls, schematics, and test equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, testing, and maintaining complex equipment and machinery
  • Thorough knowledge of the construction, installation, operation, and troubleshooting of sophisticated circuitry and controls associated with unique projects
  • Advanced knowledge of equipment and machine control bodes in sufficient depth to trace symptoms of equipment malfunction and distinguish mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures from those which are electrical or electronic
  • Thorough knowledge of the construction, installation, operation, and troubleshooting of sophisticated circuitry and controls associated with unique projects
  • Knowledge and ability to anticipate and respond quickly to danger signs as they become evident through intricate warning systems to avoid loss of time and expensive equipment
  • Must have skill in the use of hand tools, power tools and test equipment needed to perform job effectively
  • Knowledge of electronics to electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, and transistors
  • Able to interpret complex multi-view drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, manufacturers' specifications, and other technical material to isolate malfunctions in such devices as hydraulic pumps and motors, mechanical clamping devices, and electric or hydraulic axis drive and positioning systems
  • Knowledge of geometry, shop mathematics, and handbook formulas to provide for surfaces with interrelated dimensions and to calculate angles, clearances, fits, pressure, flow, and other parameters of interest
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, test, repair and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems and associated fixtures, controls and equipment.
  • Work with team to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues.

Work Environment:
  • Primary work environment is the production floor.
  • Secondary work environment is the office.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) through the entire shift.
  • Ability to be aware of surroundings for safety concerns.
  • While performing duties of this job the employee will be required to frequently stand on their feet for extended periods of time. Occasion stooping and walking will be required.
