Job Summary

Devises, selects, sets up, and operates electronic instrumentation and related electromechanical or electrohydraulic apparatus used for operation and environmental testing of mechanical, structural, or electrical equipment, and translates test data for engineering personnel by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Ability to read and follow work instructions.
• Record data manually or by computer as required.
• Select, install, calibrate, and check sensing, telemetering, and recording instrumentation and circuitry, developing specifications for nonstandard apparatus based on engineering data and equipment capabilities.
• Troubleshoot control logic via PLC interface using software to isolate and repair faults.
• Install units in test chambers or other facilities, or direct technical personnel to do so.
• Operate test apparatus during cycles to produce, regulate, and record effects of conditions like vibration, stress, temperature, humidity, pressure, altitude, and acceleration.
• Analyze and convert test data, prepare graphs and reports, and plan test programs.
• Use computerized equipment and software for testing and graph production.
• Comply with attendance policies, including regular attendance and occasional overtime.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals; write routine reports; speak effectively before groups.
• Apply advanced mathematical concepts like exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations; perform related statistical and analytical tasks.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form; handle multiple variables.
