Job summary

Vermont Cider Company is seeking an Industrial Electrical Technician/PLC Specialist to join the maintenance team on 1st shift. You will troubleshoot, repair, and improve highly technical production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and support safe, efficient operations.

The role requires strong electrical experience with PLCs and motor controls, and offers opportunities for hands-on training, skill development, and long-term career growth within the company.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Electrical experience required; 3 years of industrial electrical or programming experience preferred.
  • Two-year technical degree and/or licensed electrician credential preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting motor control and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and other industrial control components preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Ability to identify root causes, propose solutions, and implement repairs or improvements.
  • Ability to calibrations, installations, and maintenance of process and analytical instrumentation.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with computerized maintenance management systems preferred.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in high-speed packaging or highly automated continuous process environments preferred.
  • Ability to perform mechanical work such as valve replacement, conveyor bearing and chain replacement, motor and gearbox replacement, and lubrication routes.
  • Ability to work overtime, alternate shifts, and provide after-hours support as business needs require.

  • Analyze process data and support equipment maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance tasks to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Use the maintenance management system to document corrective and preventive maintenance, source and issue parts, record equipment issues, and enter inspection or measurement points.
  • Prioritize and self-schedule maintenance work around production needs to support production and maintenance key performance indicators.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and help maintain a safe working environment.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.

Vermont Cider Company is hiring an Industrial Electrical Technician/PLC Specialist to join our maintenance team on 1st shift. In this hands‑on role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and improve highly technical production equipment in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This is a great opportunity for an experienced electrical technician who enjoys problem‑solving, working with automated systems, and helping keep production running safely and efficiently.

Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

Pay: $24.00–$40.00 per hour Pay is based on skills, experience, shift, internal equity, and business needs. We support employee growth through hands‑on training, skill development, performance‑based advancement, and opportunities to build a long‑term career with our team.

Key Responsibilities
