Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. in Toledo, OH is seeking a Maintenance Electrical Technician to perform electrical preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and electrical infrastructure, including low voltage and instrumentation.

You will troubleshoot, install, and service motors, transformers, and control circuits in a heavy industrial setting. The role requires a degree or apprenticeship, Journeyman certification, and 5+ years’ experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2-year technical program or apprenticeship considered.
• Journeyman card/certification and 5+ years of electrical maintenance in industrial settings.
• Ability to read electrical/instrumentation prints and schematics.
• CMMS experience; Ellipse preferred; proficient with Excel/Word.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work with high voltage equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely inspect, replace, and repair equipment in a continuous operation.
• Isolate equipment for safety using lockout/tagout procedures.
• Receive and execute work orders and plan break-in repairs.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and troubleshoot circuits to determine fixes.
• Install and wire electrical devices, control panels, and transformers.
• Operate testing instruments and maintain a clean work area.
• Prepare reports and provide written and verbal feedback.
