Job summary

CBC is recruiting an Industrial Electrical Technician / Electrician for a night-shift opportunity at a Richmond, Virginia area facility. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems, production machinery, and facility electrical infrastructure.

The position is well suited to someone with strong industrial electrical fundamentals who can also work in a multi-craft production-support environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED plus an electrical apprenticeship, technical program, or equivalent.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, motors, motor controls, and electrical distribution.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose faults involving motors, starters, relays, transformers, circuit protection, disconnects, and power distribution.
• Troubleshoot single-phase and three-phase systems, motor circuits, and power-distribution equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, equipment manuals, and work orders.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and machine-safety circuits.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance and document repairs, wiring changes, test results, and component replacements.
