Job summary

Astec seeks an Electrical Technician to join our manufacturing electrical department. You will assemble, evaluate, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical equipment to meet product specifications and safety standards.

You will read blueprints, perform preventive maintenance, test heaters, and collaborate with engineering to improve processes. A high school diploma or equivalent and 0–2 years in manufacturing are preferred; strong problem-solving and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years manufacturing experience preferred to understand equipment and procedures.
• Detail oriented with good workmanship and ability to follow directions with little supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills are desired.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical and electrical circuit blueprints and diagrams.
• Perform preventative maintenance on a regular schedule.
• Test heaters and verify readiness before shipping to customer site.
