Job summary

Astec is seeking an Electrical Technician to join our manufacturing electrical department under supervision. This role performs assembly, evaluation, troubleshooting, and testing to ensure all product specifications are met, while working with live energized equipment and following safety standards.

You will read electrical diagrams, fabricate parts with hand tools, conduct preventative maintenance, and collaborate with electrical engineering to improve processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and/or accreditation from a technical school or skilled trades program.
• 0-2 years working in manufacturing to understand equipment and procedures.
• Detail oriented with good workmanship while taking and following direction with little to no supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Astec processes in the manufacturing electrical department including panel room, construction manufacturing and industrial manufacturing as warranted by workload demands and scheduling needs.
• Test and troubleshoot heaters to ensure equipment is ready before shipping to customer site
• Correct and re-test to verify corrective action was successful
• Communicate with electrical engineering recommendations to correct or improve processes
• Monitor quality issues that warrant concern and encourage postponement of equipment from being shipped
• Achieve quality results as it relates to the Company’s vision and mission
• Promote and educate others on Astec’s core values
• Follow company policies, procedures, and safety rules at all times
