Job summary

Omya Inc. is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install industrial electrical equipment, ensuring continuous plant operation.

You will work with the maintenance, automation, and production teams to diagnose problems, perform preventive work, and commission new equipment. Responsibilities include calibrating process instrumentation, repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or approved electrical apprenticeship program.
• 2+ years of work experience under supervision of a qualified electrician.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Knowledge of electrical code and safety standards.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in varying conditions (heights, heat, noise, dust).
• Overtime and emergency call-ins available.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical problems in industrial equipment (motors, sensors, drives, control systems).
• Install, test, commission and start up equipment and systems as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and PPE requirements.
• Collaborate with maintenance, automation, production, and engineering teams.
• Utilize CMMS for tracking maintenance work.
• Install and calibrate process instrumentation; troubleshoot instrumentation/automation issues.
• Collaborate to upgrade production operations and design documents for projects.
• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems; participate in layout and installation of systems.
