Job summary

Hunter Foundry in Schaumburg, IL seeks an Electrical Engineer with 3+ years of experience to design, maintain and improve electrical systems across foundry operations. You will work on PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and control systems, ensuring safe, reliable manufacturing performance.

Responsibilities include developing schematics, troubleshooting to minimize downtime, supporting preventive maintenance, and coordinating with maintenance and production teams on capital improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
3+ years in industrial manufacturing, foundry, metals, or heavy manufacturing.
Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and control systems.
Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
Knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E and electrical safety practices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems, control panels, and power distribution for foundry operations.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, automation, and control system issues to minimize downtime.
Program, modify, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
Support preventive and predictive maintenance for electrical equipment.
Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and electrical safety standards.
Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to improve equipment performance.
Assist in planning, execution, and commissioning of capital improvement projects.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring failures.
Support vendors and contractors during installations and upgrades.
