Job summary

Nbutexas is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer for the Dayton, OH area. The role focuses on leading control system design, PLC/HMI programming, and field commissioning for major industrial clients across North America.

You will develop electrical schematics, perform arc flash calculations, and travel up to 30% to support startups and commissioning with a hands-on engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on electrical engineering experience.
• 1+ year AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical experience.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
• Experience with PLC logic, relays, and HMI development.
• Knowledge of 240V/480V systems and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Create electrical schematics and enclosure layouts using AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical.
• Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI control systems.
• Develop parts order sheets and support panel builds.
• Travel to customer sites up to 30% for startup and commissioning.
• Collaborate with project managers to define scope for custom builds.
• Interpret electrical codes and perform arc flash calculations.
• Support continuous improvement of designs and documentation.
