Job summary

Sea America Inc. is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer in Perrysburg, Ohio to implement and troubleshoot electrical control systems, perform PLC/HMI commissioning, collect data, and optimize controls. Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing equipment controls engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Experience in controls engineering techniques and practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical/electronic control systems.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and safety requirements.
  • Experience using AutoDesk AutoCAD to create electrical schematics and panel layouts.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation Logix PLCs, including ladder and function block diagrams.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation HMI.
  • Knowledge of PLC Siemens and Mitsubishi platforms.
  • Knowledge of robotic systems including safety requirements and design/implementation practices.
  • Experience with motion controls including stepper motors, servo motors, and AC/DC Drives.
  • Understanding of computer hardware/applications and the Microsoft Office family.
  • Some Microsoft SQL Server Database configuration experience.
  • Experience in at least one multi-tiered architecture using C#, VB.NET, HTML, XML and SQL.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting US customer manufacturing tool controls.
  • Assisting with coordination of new equipment installation and implementation.
  • Maintaining and updating manufacturing process tool electrical drawings, ensuring changes are tracked and drawings kept current.
  • Troubleshooting equipment controls issues and proposing policy/standard improvements to prevent future issues.
  • Interfacing with multiple departments and customer stakeholders to ensure controls policies/standards are understood and followed.
  • Maintaining effective communication and fostering team-building.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
  • Maintaining OSHA 10 – General Industry certification and additional safety training as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
