Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Morenci is seeking an experienced electrical/instrumentation technician to support on-site maintenance and repair activities in a mining environment. The role focuses on removing, repairing, and installing electrical components and troubleshooting industrial equipment, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will perform preventive maintenance, assist with substation and switchgear tasks, and work with a team to keep the copper mining operation running smoothly; on-site

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved certified electronics, electrical and/or instrumentation program or minimum of two (2) years of experience.
• Basic experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment.
• Valid state drivers license.
• Must have minimum personal tools as described by the department tool list (or be able to obtain them within 90 days of hire date).
• Able to perform the essential functions of the job at the time of the job offer with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must complete the pre-employment color perception as well as electrical/instrumentation assessment.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs and construction
• Perform preventive maintenance, installation and repair of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment (i.e. substations, power distribution systems, switchgear motors, motor controls, systems and components, process controls, instrumentation and pneumatic equipment)
• Assist with troubleshooting of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned
