Job summary

Spectrum Brands, Inc is seeking a New Product Industrial Designer to translate consumer needs into innovative products within the Home & Garden R&D team. You will work with engineering, marketing, manufacturing and other functions to design and prototype user-friendly delivery systems and devices.

The role demands strong proficiency in 3D modeling, rendering, and rapid prototyping, with a focus on ergonomics, aesthetics, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design required or equivalent
• 4+ years of experience in industrial design
• 3+ years in hard goods design execution
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint
• Experience with consumer-packaged goods preferred
• Portfolio demonstrating design thinking and prototyping ability

Responsibilities

• Understand consumer insights and translate them into new products
• Drive consumer-led innovation within the organization
• Collaborate with Marketing, NPD, Manufacturing and Supply Chain
• Develop design concepts focusing on ergonomics, form and function
• Create 2D/3D renderings and aesthetic solid models
• Prototype and test through rapid prototyping and fabrication
• Develop supplier relationships to accelerate product implementation
• Balance aesthetics with functional engineering and manufacturability
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and iterative development
• Incorporate AI-driven iteration into design process
• Maintain rapid prototyping machinery and tools as needed
