Job summary

The Toro Company’s Ditch Witch division in Perry, OK seeks an Industrial Designer I to contribute to industry-leading product appearance and human-to-machine interfaces. You will create sketches, renderings, solid models, and help build physical mock-ups while collaborating with engineering and marketing teams.

Responsibilities include developing machine attributes, evaluating prototypes, and ensuring designs meet standards and performance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, engineering, graphic arts, or drafting.
• Visual communication skills including the ability to make sketches, renderings, and drawings both by hand and with computer software tools.
• A strong interest in the design and use of mobile equipment.
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD software such as Creo, Solid Edge, or SOLIDWORKS and illustration tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Keyshot, or Alias are pluses.

Responsibilities

• Determine a broad range of machine attributes related to human factors and appearance.
• Direct and physically participate in construction of scale mock-ups and models to evaluate design and functionality.
• Physically participate in construction and testing of prototypes to evaluate design and functionality.
• Analyze product specifications and performance requirements to determine designs balancing performance, functionality, cost and manufacturability.
• Review product designs for compliance with standards, regulatory requirements, and customer contracts.
• Create, maintain, and/or direct the creation/maintenance of essential design information including models, drafts, and renderings.
• Provide solutions to complex issues while balancing workload among multiple projects.
