Job summary

Ditch Witch in Perry, Oklahoma, a Toro Company affiliate, seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to design and select components for electronic/electromechanical systems. You will create schematics with ECAD, guide drafters, and work with suppliers to advance Ditch Witch/Subsite products.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and 2–6 years of experience. Proficiency in C/C++, embedded Linux, and desktop apps is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university.
  • Engineer II requires 2–4 years of experience (Advanced Degree may substitute).
  • Engineer III requires 4–6 years of experience (Advanced Degree may substitute).
  • Experience developing embedded firmware for 8/16/32-bit MCUs in C/C++.

Responsibilities

  • Research and design components and electrical/electronic systems for Ditch Witch/Subsite products.
  • Use ECAD software to create electronic schematics and documents.
  • Direct drafter/illustrator/technician work and interface with suppliers.
  • Develop Desktop Windows/Linux applications and embedded Linux/bare-metal systems.
  • Coordinate with other departments and evaluate newer technologies.

What Will You Do?

The Electrical Design, will research and design components and electrical/electronic systems for Ditch Witch or Subsite branded products. Primary duties include design and selection of components related to electronic or electromechanical equipment. The employee will use ECAD software to create electronic schematics; direct the work of drafter/illustrators, and technicians; works closely with various component suppliers; and performs other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze technical information from a variety of sources, including:
    • conversations with engineers, product managers, suppliers, etc.
    • technical documents,
    • operation of equipment, and
    • your own tests & experiments.
  • Maintain design concepts for circuits and systems, involving analog and digital design techniques and interface sensors with microcontrollers.
  • Design, implement, and test electrical circuits to demonstrate compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare technical design and production documentation.
  • Define measurement techniques, tuning procedures, and special test fixtures for production use.
  • Develop Desktop (Windows and Linux) applications.
  • Design for embedded Linux systems.
  • Design for bare-metal embedded systems.
  • Serves as an expert within the department for a design-related field and provides consulting to others on technical matters.
  • Coordinates product sustaining activities with other personnel, including the flow of information and documentation to other departments.
  • Evaluates feasibility and applicability of newer technologies and methods to existing products and designs.
  • Meets or exceed typical expectations for creativity, productivity, quality, and safety.
What Do You Need?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering only from an ABET accredited engineering college or university.
  • Engineer II, 2 - 4 years of experience (Advanced Degree in lieu of experience).
  • Engineer III, 4 - 6 years of experience (Advanced Degree in lieu of experience).
  • Knowledge of, or experience in., developing embedded firmware for 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers in C/C++.
  • Knowledge of, experience in, developing application software for embedded Linux systems (Qt/C++).
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, developing desktop applications in C# or Python.
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, common communications busses such as SPI, I2C, RS232, and CAN.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Results-driven and action-oriented; positive and energetic.
  • High degree of personal and professional integrity.
  • Good problem-analysis and resolution skills.
  • Strong process orientation and drive for continuous improvement.

Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $78600- $112000 . Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package.
