Job summary

Pura seeks a Sr Director of Industrial Design to lead the hardware and packaging design for our scent technology portfolio. You will drive the design language across diffusers, refills, and packaging while partnering with engineering, product, operations, and external agencies.

The role requires 10+ years in industrial design, a strong portfolio, and senior leadership capabilities to shape a fast‑growing hardware-first brand with premium aesthetics and sustainability in mind.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industrial design experience, including consumer hardware/tech.
• Portfolio demonstrating shipped hardware and packaging.
• Experience leading hardware and packaging design or overseeing both disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, DFx, CMF) and packaging production.
• Excellent communication and storytelling with executives and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Set the design vision for hardware and packaging across the portfolio; ensure a distinct Pura identity.
• Direct industrial design for smart diffusers, CMF, prototyping, and design validation with engineering.
• Oversee structural and visual packaging design for retail, e‑commerce, and refills.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Supply Chain, Brand; align with manufacturability and cost targets.
• Partner with ODM/OEM and packaging partners to preserve design integrity through production.
• Drive design research through user studies and benchmarking to stay ahead of trends.
• Develop scalable design review, tooling, and documentation processes to support growth.
• Present concepts and design rationale to executive leadership and stakeholders.
