Job summary

The City of New York's Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer (ICS/OT Security) to safeguard Industrial Control Systems used in municipal infrastructure. You will help implement and evaluate security controls for SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, and OT environments across water, energy, transportation, and public safety systems.

You will collaborate with engineers, system operators, and city agencies, gaining mentorship and developing expertise in industrial cybersecurity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience or equivalent
• Familiarity with SCADA platforms, PLCs, RTUs, and industrial protocols
• Strong analytical and documentation skills
• Excellent communication across multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls for ICS/OT environments
• Develop secure network architectures including segmentation and firewall configurations
• Assist in incident response and investigations for ICS/OT
• Perform risk assessments and compliance reviews (NIST SP 800-82, ISA/IEC 62443)
• Maintain documentation, asset inventories, and system baselines
• Provide guidance to city personnel operating ICS/OT systems
• Contribute to training and awareness programs on ICS security
• Handle special projects as assigned
