Job summary

The New York City Department of Veterans' Services (DVS) is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer (ICS/OT Security) to safeguard industrial control systems across municipal infrastructure. You will collaborate with the Office of Technology and Innovation to implement security controls for critical services such as water, energy distribution, and transportation.

Work with city staff to design secure networks, perform risk assessments, and respond to incidents.

Qualifications

• Experience in cybersecurity engineering for ICS/OT environments.
• Familiarity with standards like NIST SP 800-82 and ISA/IEC 62443 would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, implementation, and maintenance of security controls for IC/OT environments, including SCADA systems, PLCs, RTUs.
• Support development and configuration of secure network architectures, including segmentation, firewall configurations, secure remote access capabilities, and monitoring solutions.
• Assist in investigations and responses to security incidents involving industrial control systems.
• Assist in risk assessments, vulnerability evaluations, and compliance reviews per applicable standards (NIST SP 800-82, ISA/IEC 62443).
• Maintain documentation, asset inventories, network diagrams, and system baselines for IC/OT environments.
• Provide technical guidance to city personnel operating IC/OT systems.
• Contribute to training and awareness programs related to IC security best practices.
• Handle special projects and initiatives as assigned.
