Job summary

IFP Automation in Fishers, Indiana is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to support external sales engineers and customers. You will handle quotes, orders, deliveries, and data accuracy, while learning technical product details from our engineers.

The role requires 2+ years of customer service experience in an industrial setting, proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office, and a proactive, customer-first mindset. Occasional warehouse duties and training are included as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of customer service experience, ideally in an industrial, technical, or distribution setting.
• Ability and willingness to be in Fishers Indiana office each business day.
• Familiarity with motion control, automation, or industrial components is a strong plus, but not required.
• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., Trulinx, P21, Epicore, SAP) and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to manage data accurately and efficiently across platforms.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfort working with or learning technical product data with internal support.
• Willingness to jump in and support warehouse operations as needed.
• Forklift experience (certification a plus, or willingness to be trained).
• A team player with a proactive, customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer and interdepartmental inquiries promptly and accurately.
• Provide administrative and customer service support to outside sales engineers, including quotes, orders, expediting deliveries, and account management.
• Research and retain technical product information with support from application engineers.
• Prepare and follow up on customer quotations.
• Process and expedit customer and vendor orders as needed.
• Assist with product identification, pricing, and delivery coordination.
• Contact customers to ensure follow-through and satisfaction.
• Prepare weekly order status reports for selected accounts.
• Monitor database entries for inconsistencies and correct as needed.
• Occasionally travel for vendor or product training sessions.
• Warehouse support: pull, pack, ship via FedEx/UPS/LTL; receive and process inbound shipments; track freight costs; maintain inventory and assist with cycle counts; operate forklift or other equipment.
