Job summary

Saint-Gobain/CertainTeed in Conyers, GA is seeking a Crate Technician to measure, cut, assemble, and secure crates for product protection. You will follow safety guidelines, use hand and power tools, and partner with shipping, production and receiving teams.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of saws/drills experience, carpentry skills, basic computer skills, and forklift experience. Weekly pay at $21/hour, with strong focus on safe, efficient logistics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year using saws or drills in manufacturing.
• Carpentry or woodworking experience preferred.
• Strong communication with shipping, fabrication and other departments.
• Basic computer skills and forklift experience are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure standards.
• Collaborate with shipping, receiving and production to meet schedules.
• Perform routine tool and equipment maintenance.
• Keep a clean, safe work area for efficiency and safety.
• Measure, cut and assemble crates to fit products.
• Secure items inside crates with padding and fasteners.
• Operate hand and power tools safely during crate construction.
• Inspect materials and finished crates for quality and accuracy.

Job description

The main purpose of crating is to safely protect, secure, and transport products or equipment by providing a sturdy enclosure that prevents damage during handling, storage, or shipping. Crates are designed to keep items stable, protect them from impact, vibration, and environmental factors, and ensure they arrive intact at their destination.

• Location: 1481 Rockdale Industrial Blvd, Conyers, Georgia, 30012
• Pay Rate: 21.00/hr paid weekly

Responsibilities

• Follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Collaborate with shipping, receiving, and production teams to meet deadlines and shipping schedules.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment used in the crating process.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
• Measure, cut, and assemble crates to fit specific products or equipment.
• Secure items inside crates using appropriate padding, bracing, or fasteners to prevent movement or damage.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during crate construction
• Inspect materials and finished crates for quality, durability, and accuracy.
