Job summary

Saint-Gobain is seeking a Production Operator to work on a production line, following SOPs and recipes under supervision. You will set up lines, perform autonomous maintenance, and assist maintenance staff while maintaining product quality.

Emphasis on CI, waste reduction, housekeeping, and safety in a team environment. Preferred candidates have 1–3 years of forklift driving and manufacturing experience; a HS diploma or GED is preferred.

• Follow standard operating procedures and recipes.
• Set up line following established equipment settings.
• Fill out maintenance work orders and assist Maintenance Technicians as needed.

• Monitor product and resolve issues using CI tools; track metrics to close out work orders.
• Minimize waste using CI tools and maintain good housekeeping.
• Perform Autonomous Maintenance on production equipment.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Support Continuous Improvement by adhering to sustainment boards.
• Be a flexible, open minded team player and follow safety rules.

Job description

Under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor and/or Line Lead, the Production Operator is accountable for performing required tasks necessary to meet production goals on a production line in a team oriented environment. This is done with an emphasis on the following:

• Follow standard operating procedures and recipes
• Set up line following established equipment settings
• Fill out maintenance work orders and assists Maintenance Technicians as needed
• Maintain quality of product on production line by ensuring product standards are being followed
• Continually monitor product, to detect and resolve issues utilizing CI tools
  Track and/or fill out metrics required to accurately close out production work orders
• Aid in minimizing/elimination of process wastes using CI tools
• Maintain good housekeeping as established by Operator Duty Sheets and identify gaps and areas for improvement
• Perform Autonomous Maintenance (CILT clean, lube, inspect, and tighten) on production equipment
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Support Continuous Improvement expansion by participating and adhering to requirements as established by equipment/area sustainment boards
• Flexible, open minded team player
• Follow all safety rules and rules as established in employee handbook
