Job summary

Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials Inc. in Scranton, PA is seeking a skilled Controls Technician to maintain electrical, automation, and control systems in a 24/7 manufacturing setting. You will install, troubleshoot, and program PLCs, HMIs, and machine controls while partnering with maintenance, operations, and MES teams.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens or Ignition, and a proactive mindset for continuous improvement and safe operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems.
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and machine controls.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Ignition, Wonderware, WinCC, or SQL databases.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot electrical and controls systems for manufacturing equipment.
• Verify proper operation of control systems, electrical wiring, safety circuits, and machine interlocks.
• Diagnose and resolve PLC/HMI issues to minimize downtime.
• Modify, download, and maintain PLC and HMI programs while documenting changes.
• Update controller firmware and maintain version control of PLC/HMI software.
• Create, update, and maintain electrical schematics, control drawings, and system documentation.
• Provide technical support for PLCs, HMIs, machine controls, MES, and related automation systems in a 24/7 environment.
• Analyze historical process data to support troubleshooting and improvements.
