Job summary

Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials Inc. in Scranton, PA is seeking a skilled Controls Technician to support electrical, automation, and control systems across manufacturing operations.

You will install, troubleshoot, program, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks, collaborating with maintenance, operations, and MES teams to minimize downtime and improve processes. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial automation, electrical systems, and plant environments,

Qualifications

• Must have troubleshooting and programming PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience in manufacturing environments and trouble-shooting automation.
• Familiar with PLC/HMI software such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Ignition, WinCC, or similar.
• Strong problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot electrical and controls systems for manufacturing equipment.
• Verify operation of control systems, wiring, safety circuits, and interlocks.
• Diagnose PLC/HMI and machine control issues to minimize downtime.
• Modify, download, and maintain PLC/HMI programs with documentation.
• Update firmware and maintain version control for PLC/HMI software.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, drawings, and system docs.
• Provide 24/7 technical support for automation systems and MES interfaces.
• Analyze process data to support troubleshooting and improvements.
• Collaborate with MES to manage versions and opportunities for automation improvements.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot Ethernet/IP and other networks.
