Job summary

VOLCANIX AUTOMATION is hiring for a hands-on Controls & Robotics engineer capable of commissioning and supporting projects in North America. You will develop, configure, and troubleshoot industrial control systems, PLC programming, SCADA, and robotics integrations in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The role spans development, testing, and production handoffs, requiring collaboration with PMs, mechanical engineers, and customer teams. On-site work is typical, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Technical Degree required.
• Strong hands-on experience with industrial automation and robotics.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, commission, and troubleshoot industrial control systems and automated equipment.
• Program and troubleshoot Siemens PLCs using TIA Portal.
• Develop, configure, and maintain Ignition Platform SCADA applications.
• Program, teach, optimize, and troubleshoot industrial robots (FANUC and/or ABB).
• Support robotic cell integration, commissioning, and production startup activities.
• Integrate robots with PLC‑controlled equipment, industrial networks, vision systems, and safety devices.
• Optimize robot paths, cycle times, and process performance to meet production goals.
• Perform system testing, validation, customer run‑offs, and production handoffs.
• Troubleshoot controls, robotics, electrical, communication, and automation issues.
• Collaborate with project managers, mechanical engineers, production personnel, and customer teams.
• Maintain technical documentation while following customer engineering standards.
