Job summary

State Group Automation is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer for North America-based projects, including on-site and Build Shop work. You will design, commission, and support PLC/HMI systems on high-impact automation programs.

Requirements include 2+ years in controls, a related engineering degree, PLC/HMI expertise, and willingness to travel. TN visa eligibility and a passport are required; the role offers growth and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering or programming field.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs and HMIs.
• Preferred knowledge of robotic systems.
• Experience with Automotive, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing industries.
• Extensive commissioning experience.
• Preferred hardware and software design capabilities.
• Ability to travel to customer sites across North America.
• Valid passport and driver's license.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US or qualify for a TN visa.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all safety standards.
• Collaborate effectively with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Support electrical and software design as needed.
• Optimize cycle times and improve throughput.
• Maintain customer relationships.
• Assist with electrical and software design when required.
• Start-up, debug and troubleshooting of PLC Controls automation equipment at the Build Shop and customer's site.
• Throughput enhancement at the customer's site.
