ARCO a Family of Construction Companies in Chicago, IL is seeking an Industrial Controls Project Manager to lead projects from design through completion, specializing in PLC/SCADA, instrumentation, and field installation. You’ll manage budgets, schedules, and client satisfaction while driving ARCO’s self-perform controls growth.

The role requires strong problem-solving, leadership, and construction-practice knowledge, with 25–40% site time and a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial controls experience.
• Strong understanding of industrial control system architecture including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, instrumentation, field devices, control panels, and networks.
• Experience with Siemens and/or Beckhoff PLC programming, logic development, troubleshooting, and field integration.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and leadership skills.
• Entrepreneurial and self-motivated with ability to work independently.
• Willingness to spend 25-40% on construction jobsite.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of a project from preconstruction through closeout, including controls design, buyout, installation, and commissioning.
• Oversee PLC and HMI/SCADA programming, including point mapping, sequencing, testing strategy, graphics coordination, and field integration support.
• Review control narratives, shop drawings, panel layouts, submittals, and as-built documentation for accuracy and constructability.
• Support equipment and controls buyout, including instrumentation selection and vendor evaluations.
• Direct field installation activities for low-voltage controls systems, wiring, panel installation, and communications.
• Collaborate with clients and design team to deliver ARCO’s integrated model on complex projects.
• Contribute to growing ARCO’s self-perform controls services.
• Troubleshoot issues from discovery to root-cause analysis and final resolution.
