Job summary

Corning is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, build and service automated production equipment at the Painted Post, NY facility. You’ll collaborate across engineering, operations and maintenance to implement new functionality, ensure safety, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

The role emphasizes hands-on, cross-functional development with PLCs, HMIs, motion control, and control system integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent field.
• 1-3 years of experience in controls, automation, or related fields.
• Experience with robust controls solutions in manufacturing environments.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Familiarity with PLCs/PACs, motion control, and safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as Electrical Controls expert for development and troubleshooting of production equipment in the Firing area at the Painted Post, NY facility.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance to implement new functionality.
• Support safety controllers, PLCs, DCS, HMIs, robots, motion systems, and MES/data collection.
• Follow electrical controls standards and manage changes during off-shift periods.
• Communicate benefits/risks of engineered solutions to Operations and Leadership.
